Every Monday, at the Forest Avenue Outreach orchard and garden, the community is invited to join garden manager Lindsey Coyne for planting, maintenance and harvest of the produce from 9-11 AM. Olive O'Connell of AllLove Movement offers a weekly hour-long, beginner friendly donation-based yoga practice in the beautiful orchard from 11-12 PM. Everyone is welcome, especially kids!
Lindsey and Olive both enjoy being outside, fresh local food and teaching. We are active in building community and recognize that working together is, in so many ways, better than working alone. We openly share our knowledge and would love to learn from others who may know different, even better, ways to garden!
FOA orchard consists of many fruit trees, thornless berry brambles and aronia, with hazelnuts, nannyberries and a peach tree being planted this year. The community gardens are full of vegetables and herbs and there is something available to eat from early to late in the growing season.
We ask that you attend during community gardening hours for harvests and do NOT harvest during other times, so we can keep track of the food we are producing and donating. Additional Community Gardening hours on Wednesdays 5-7 PM. Or contact Lindsey Coyne to set up other arrangements.
